Conjugated forms:
How do you conjugate sein in the present tense?
The verb sein is highly irregular: ich bin, du bist, er/sie/es ist, wir sind, ihr seid, sie/Sie sind. Unlike regular verbs, the stem changes completely with each subject. Memorizing these forms is essential because sein is used both as a main verb (to be) and as an auxiliary verb for the perfect tense.
How do you conjugate haben in the present tense?
The verb haben is also irregular but follows a more recognizable pattern: ich habe, du hast, er/sie/es hat, wir haben, ihr habt, sie/Sie haben. The second and third person singular drop the b and shorten to hast and hat. Like sein, haben is used as both a main verb and an auxiliary verb for the perfect tense.
