Mission briefing (2 min): You are in a REWE in Munich. Your flatmate calls: “Was kaufst du?” You answer in a 30-second voice note with 5 foods + ein / eine. No textbook sentences — real shopping German.
Quick rule: ein + masculine / neuter (ein Apfel? No! — der Apfel → ein Apfel, das Brot → ein Brot), eine + feminine (die Milch → eine Milch). Plural = no article: Äpfel.
Warm-up: type what you will say
Type the correct form. Then do it for real on your phone.
Fill ein / eine / einen. For plural, leave empty.
- Open your voice recorder / WhatsApp to yourself.
- Say: “Hallo! Ich kaufe heute...” + 5 foods from above.
- Listen once. Re-record one word you mumbled.
- Send it to your teacher / tandem partner with the text you typed.
Done in <4 minutes. Pronunciation > perfection.
Forward this template to one friend: “Ich kaufe ___ / ___ / ___. Und du?” If they reply in German, you both get a streak point. Screenshot + bring to class — fastest chain wins.
K-factor mechanic: 1 learner → 1 friend → 1 new voice note. No app needed.
